Just over two weeks ago, we had our annual dig and divide where DGC members worked in teams digging and dividing plants at twelve Marblehead properties. While members nurture the hundreds of plants (including trillium, jack in the pulpit, columbine, catmint, blue aster, ginger, anemone, coral bells, and dozens more) that will be sold at our upcoming plant sale, the plant sale committee is working overtime to ensure another successful day!
Ellen and Nancy joined me at my house this year, and I was a little worried we wouldn't find enough to dig in my tiny garden. As it turns out, finding forty-seven plants wasn't such a difficult task!
Last week, Ellen hosted a container party at her house, and attending members created beautiful container plants -- for those buyers who are looking for something ready made.
Here's a photo of Linda and her granddaughter at last year's container party
Our plant sale will be held at the Masonic Hall, 62 Pleasant Street, on Saturday, May 7, from 8:30 - 11:30. Don't forget to spread the word to family, friends, and neighbors.
As always, all proceeds will benefit the gardens of the Abbot Public Library.
Our new banner (thanks, Dianne):
